This page is issued by Samman Publishing House, Kathmandu, Nepal. It is effective from 16 August 2026. Everything it states is a fact about the code that runs this site.

1. Cookies this site sets on its own

  • A sign-in session cookie, set only when you sign in, so the site knows who you are on the next page.
  • A language cookie, set when you choose English or Nepali, so the site does not argue with you on the next visit. It lasts a year.
  • A cookie recording your answer to the measurement question below, so we do not ask again. It lasts a year and holds one word: granted or denied.

None of these can be switched off without breaking the thing they do. None of them track you across other websites. They are first-party cookies on this host.

2. Measurement, and your choice

We would like to use Google Analytics to understand which books and pages people actually read. It sets its own cookies. We ask before loading it, and if you decline, the script is never requested — nothing is loaded and then ignored.

Where it is enabled, we turn off advertising features and Google signals, and we anonymise IP addresses. We do not run advertising on this site and we do not build audiences. If the measurement identifier is not configured, the script does not load and the question is not asked.

We keep our own count of things like a book page being read, a search being run, or an enquiry arriving. That record holds the event, the day, the page, and the book or author it concerned. It does not hold your IP address, your browser, an identifier of any kind, or anything you typed into a form.

Because there is no identifier, two visits from the same person cannot be connected. That is deliberate.

4. What never leaves SPH

Quote decisions, document approvals, payment verification and anything written in an application or enquiry are recorded only in our own database. They are never sent to Google Analytics or any other outside measurement tool.

5. Changing your mind

Clear this site's cookies in your browser and we will ask again on your next visit. You can also refuse Google Analytics cookies in your browser settings; we will still honour a denied answer stored by this site.
